On November 3, 2015, Lawyers Helping Hungry Children, a non-profit dedicated to ending childhood hunger in Washington, held joint fundraisers in Seattle and Tacoma.  In Seattle, Lawyers Helping Hungry Children held its 24th annual fundraiser at the Grand Hyatt.  The luncheon was emceed by Ian Lindsay, and featured remarks by Carrie Ferrence, co-founder of Stock Box Neighborhood Groceries.  The Hawthorne Elementary School Choir entertained the crowd. Proceeds benefit hungry children in King County and beyond.  The event raised over $20,000 to assist beneficiary organizations, including the City of Seattle Summer Food Program, Northwest Harvest, the Emergency Feeding Program, and CARE.

The Pierce County Chapter of Lawyers Helping Hungry Children held its 7th annual breakfast fundraiser the same day.  The breakfast, hosted by Pierce County Superior Court Judge Susan Serko, took place this year at Bates Technical College. In attendance were over 200 Tacoma attorneys and members of the judiciary.  Speakers included Attorney General Bob Ferguson, YWCA CEO Miriam Barnett.  The event raised over $32,000 for emergency food programs in Pierce County – more than twice the amount raised last year.
